Spanish WFTs/more Pawlimpics

My dad went to Spain for a week for a music competition. He had a great time without me. I had a great time sleeping on his side of the bed! He was around Barcelona, mostly, but not near my buddies Verdi y Gaucho.

He must have missed me at least a little bit because he took pictures of two wire fox terriers he saw on La Rambla.

He thought this WFT was not cute. Well, not everyone can be as handsome as I am, but still, I think he looks pretty cute. Plus, he's sniffing around garbage - a dog after my own heart.

He said this dog was fun and happy and very cute. He looks like he's smiling.

Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and support of the 2008 Paw-Limpic Games! There have been some suggestions for more events, so I would like to announce them:

Dancing (may be combined with the Gymnastics category)
Kissing/Bitey Face
Sticking your tongue out/panting

If you have other ideas, please let me know! I have received responses from all over the world about the bone relay, so I am really excited about starting that. I will contact you with more info in a little while if you have let me know you are interested in participating in it, and please let me know if you have not already.

We have had some flooding here in Indiana. My family is just fine, but some of our friends have had problems in their houses and businesses. Here are some pictures from the University, where my mom works. I don't know who took these photos, because they were forwarded to my mom. Her building did not get flooded, but her air conditioning doesn't work now!

I hope all of my buddies here in Indiana and the midwest are dry and safe!

Wow, that flooding is awful!

Stella is excited to learn about the PAW-LIMPICS. She is not sure what event she would be good at unless their was a championship sitting, camoflage, big head/small body, or stinkiest bodily emmission category. She will start posing in as many photos as possible and hopefully she will come up with an entry.

We're north of Indy, and even though we've had tons of rain, we're all doing well.

We really feel for our friends south of here! They are having a tough time!

Hi Lenny,
I hadn't visited in a while as that 6 weeks you took a long siesta seemed like forever and then I got busy...Congrats to your dad on his Spanish competition, congrats to your mom on the half marathon. Sorry about the floods and your itchies. Bark 3 times, my allergies have not returned and it's been over 100F here for 4 days so Mom is amazed and delighted. We love the PawLimpics idea - Mom is boyootting the human one cos she is no fan of China and how they treat animals and the environment and given political stuff with Tibet...well Mom is mad that the olympics are even taking place there! And she will rant and rave to anyone who will listen what a complete farce the whole thing is - enemy coutries pretending to be buddies for a few weeks of sports....
Anyway, the Pawlimpics sounds groovy! I intend to enter in many of the aquatic events! Will you be judging the entries? Brilliant idea dear chap! You could certainly win the endless bath marathon!

Best,
Ax

Hi Lenny,

I'm so excited about the pawlimpics! I've got to start my training to get the perfect picture!! We haven't had too much flooding here, but we had lots of storms and tornados over the weekend. I was at my Grandparents and a tornado came right across the street. Mom and Dads flight in Minneapolis was delayed for hours due to the weather. I'm just glad we are all home safe together!!

Your pal,
Kirby

Hey Lenny,

We hope all is still OK -- those flooded streets need to dry up and not do any more damage.

Did your Dad enjoy Barcelona? How cool he saw two wires! And how was the competition? That must be very stressful -- flying and then performing!

We've been practicing for the pawlimpics -- and hope Mom is up to the task of capturing us at our best and most photogenic!!

Wirey woofs, pal. Stay dry!!

Our Mom and Dad's parent live in Wisconsin and the high water is there also. Mom's brother has lost all his corn in the marsh land and her sister-in-laws store she works at had to be sandbagged and closed. The lost a 150 year old lake to the Wisconsin river when the water ran over and created it's own outlet to the River.. Not a pretty sight.. Mom's brother said he was out in the shed building an Ark.. That Uncle Doug is so silly..

Hey Lenny,

The flooding is not to bad up here either but Wisconsin's is getting hard hit as well.

I was wondering if you might be willing to adapt you Pawlimpics design for a People or Doggie Tee for the DWB store? I would like to have one and I bet others would too.

Thanks!
