Taking over the house - one surface at a time

I have slowly but surely been carrying out "Operation Comfy Pillow" in my house. While my people are gone during the day, I sleep on the couch or on their bed. I do have my own bed, but theirs is just so much bigger.

A dog needs room to stretch!

When my mom gets home from work and sits on the couch to watch some TV, I always make sure that I get up on the couch next to her, just to remind her that it's MY comfy place and she needs to make room for me. I don't jump up there by myself (while they're home, anyway) but I put my chin on my mom's knee until she picks me up and puts me on the couch.

She thinks I sit funny. I can't help it. I haven't been able to sit like a "normal" dog since my knee surgery last year. Don't I just look cuter anyway?
My dad is turning in to a softy. He used to be Mr. Rules - no sleeping in their bed, no treats, no people food. (I get veggie treats now.) Last night he said I could lay in bed with them for fifteen minutes while they listened to something on the radio, but then I ended up sleeping on the bed all night, with my people scratching my belly. Ahhh!

Hey Lenny, I think you're doing a very good job of slowing taking over all the furniture! I'm still working on J1 & J2! J x

Way to go, Lenny!

You have learned how to work it with your dad. Very nice job training the hoomans, man.

By the way, I wouldn't say you sit funny. I would say you have a very distinctive way that you sit. It makes you look quirky and interesting.

Goober love,

Hey Lenny,
Good goin' getting to sleep on the bed ALL night, hehehehe! We get to be on all of the furniture if we want to. But some of it we don't ever go on. We love to have bankies on the furniture too so we can bury ourselves under them when we get cold. Do you have any bankies?? Have a great weekend!

Hi Lenny,

Thanks for checking out my blog. I'm hoping we can be great buddies! I love to sleep on my mom and dads bed too! The hooman beds are so much bigger than our doggie beds. I wish I could sit on the couch, but dad still says that is an off limits area. Hopefully, I'll work mine over like you did with yours. He he!

Hey Len....we mastered the couch quite a while ago...the parents are even looking for new family room furniture...just so we can be more comfy...but we've NOT mastered the bed ever. Mumsie let Scruffy up once...he chewed a hole in the sheet within 50 seconds. I'm so little, she's afraid I'll fall and hurt myself....right...
Hey, how many inches tall are you at the shoulder? I've never seen a WFT except for Scruffy with such long legs. Scruffy looks like a colt...are you guys related? We'll check ur profile and see where you were born. Scruff is a Birchurst Asta. He's one of the Ohio bunch...she's part of the NC bunch...but there's 2 more in Indiana and Florida.
Have ur mom check the tag on that stuffie and see if it has a brand name. Mumsie's driving us nuts over it!
You gettin' ready for the pawty???

Oh yes! Sleeping in the Big Bed with the humans is the bestest. Go, Go, Go!

You've got the right idea. Trying to take over the house in a hurry leads to frustration. Slow but sure, and you'll conquer all.

I do the same thing when Mom and Dad leave alone during the day. Nothing like a nice comfy sofa. Mom and Dad let me sleep with them. Dad annoys me because he moves around a lot and disturbs my sleep. As soon as it starts to get light it's time to go find Mom under the covers. I give her a good licky face attack.

You look so cute sitting like that!

You sit like you are king of the house, Lenny. Lord of all you survey. And way too cute for words!
